I step up beside him and kiss him sweetly and then hand him the gemstone " this is the shifterstone just hold it in your hands and let me do the rest okay? " I say with a smile as I step back off the platform and untie the scroll and unfurl it and then I pause a moment " are you sure you are ready for this?" I ask him one last time...

Liam surfaces on the other side and waits for you to surface and when you do he takes your hand and leads you up into the cavern and into a large glimmering chamber its walls imbeded with gemstones and crystals. "This is my secret place...what do you think of it?" he says watching you warily

Zayn grips the stone in one hand and nods "I'm ready" he looks at you and smiles "I love you, Bex".
I look around in awe "It's so beautiful" I let out in a breath, walking to a nearest wall and touching it.

I smile " I love you too Zayn" I finish unfurling the scroll " now close your eyes and we'll begin" I wait till he closes his eyes and then begin reciting " alamir tejlian shifter Zayn lamasin dae" I chant this three times and as I chant the crystal platform begins to glow and suddenly Zayn is bathed in the light and the shifterstone begins to heat up in Zayns hands "Alamir tejilan shifter Zayn lamasin dae" I chant three more times and then the platform stops glowing and the stone goes cold "the ritual is complete" I say with a smile...

Liam smiles as he watches you walk around and he reaches over to his right and presses a stone and a panel in the rock slides open revealing a blanket which he grabs and spreads on the ground " come sit with me Barb" he says taking a seat on the blanket

Zayn nods and walks over to you "I feel complete" he mutters with a smile, hugging you and kissing you gently "I'm glad I met you".
I blush and look at myself "Do you have any spare clothes? I'm completely wet" I say

I kiss him back " now lets see if you can shift...take a few steps back visualize a..hmm okay lets start with a wolf. Visualize a wolf and visualize yourself transforming into one okay? here watch me" I take a few steps back from him and close my eyes and visualize a wolf and feel myself shift into the form of a wolf -now you try Zayn- I say encouragingly in his mind...

Liam chuckles and gets up and presses another gemstone and a second panel opens revealing sweats and t shirts " here ya go love" he says handing some to you and kissing the top of your head before closing his eyes so you can change

Zayn nods, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, visualizing a black wolf on his mind, slowly thinking of himself turning into one. After another deep breath he turns into a wolf. He opens his eyes and clenches his paws, barking in happiness -Look Bex, I made it!- he transmits you.
I smile "Thanks" I thank while quickly getting dressed before turning to him and blushing lightly and chuckling "You should trade clothes too, Liam" I tell him eyeing his muscles clearly visible under his shirt

I bark with joy and trot over to him -come on lets run!- I say mentally to him and take off into the woods..

Liam chuckles and opens his eyes and grabs some dry clothes from the hole in the rock and quickly changes his pants and then pulls his shirt off and wrings it out and the moisture from his shirt slowly runs off his body as he finishes wringing out his shirt and then he grabs the dry shirt and slips it on "better?" he teases

He barks happily and follows you, nudging your body lightly and playfully before speeding and passing you.
I blush and nod with a smile "Yes" I sit on the blanket and lean against the wall "Ready for some questions?" I ask

I growl playfully and put on a burst of speed darting past him weaving through the trees till we come to a clearing where I stop and pant -wanna try a different shift?- I say through our mind link...

Liam nods and comes and sits beside you "fire away love" he says smiling at you

He nods, concentrating so he can go back to his human form "What animal should I change to next, love?" he asks smiling.
I think for a while before asking "How long do you live?"

I shift back to human and take his hand and lead him to the waters edge "well the thing is its not just known animals we can shift into, we can shift into mythological creatures as well...watch" I say and walk into the water till its up to my chest and then I shift into one of my favorite forms...a mermaid and swim and jump out of the water flashing Zayn my tail and then I surface and call to him " visualize a merman and try to shift babe" I say encouragingly...

Liam chews his lip and then answers " as long as I continue to shift I will live forever but if I stop shifting I will live a normal human life span till about 80-90 years old" he says

He chuckles and points at your chest "You should hide these" he winks before jumping into the water and closing his eyes, feeling his body shift slowly into a form of a merman, he looked at his fin and smiled -this isn't the most manly form- he transmits to you.
"Oh" I look at myself uneasy knowing that he could do much better than a lousy human who would only live 100 years max, sighing, I push those thoughts away and smile, hiding them "You can only change to a dragon, right? Why?"

I blush and grab my bikini top and put it back on and giggle " I know but I wanted to see if you could do it...follow me I wanna show you something" I say and then dive into the water and swim off heading for the sea...

Liam chuckles "well there are two types of shifter, there are those like me who can only shift into one form and then there are rare shifters like Bex who can shift to any form at will. It really has to do with genetics which is why they want Bex to mate as soon as possible in the hopes of creating more shifters like her"

Zayn chuckles and follows you with a smile on his face, grabbing your hand and bringing you close.
I nod "But shouldn't they try and mate her with someone who can shift into various animals like she can? What's the point of mating her to you?" I pause "No offense!"

I smile and lead him into the ocean and down to the bottom showing him the magical undersea world hidden below the waves -isnt it beautiful down here?- I say through the link...

Liam sighs "thats true but the thing is all the males on the male side of my family are single form shifters, I used to be able to shift to any form but one day I shifted to a dragon and didnt shift back before the time limit was up so now I can only shift into a dragon form but the elders hope that if Bex and I mate the shifter gene that allows multiple form shifts will transfer to any children she bears" he says wearily and leans back against the rock wall and closes his eyes

He nods, looking at it in wonder -I can't believe all this world has been hidden from us-.
I nod thoughtfully and decide not to comment on a subject that seems touchy for him "Can I ask why me? Why am I your mate?"

I smile and nestle myself against at his side as we float above a beautiful coral reef "well now we can come down here whenever we want...can I show you something else Zayn? I know im showing you alot tonight" I say softly looking up at him...

Liam smiles and reaches out and takes your hand " do something for me...focus on our hands and watch what happens okay?" he says softly

Zayn nods kissing you softly before saying "I will always want to see everything you want to show me"
"Alright" I look at our joined hands, noticing how his is much bigger

I kiss him back and then lead him to a cave -this way- I say through our link and then head through the cave and once we are through I swim for the surface...

Liam smiles and suddenly a warmth blossoms where his hand and yours touch and a glow flares and builds till it spill from between your clasped hands and swirls of color and light begin to dance around your clasped hands " you see..our souls know each other..thats how I know you are my mate" he says softly watching your reaction

Zayn nods, following you and turning back into a human before leaving the water, helping you up when you do it.

I chuckle "Why are they doing this now? We have been holding hands all night and the lights never appeared" I look up at him confused.

I walk up the beach and then plop down on the warm sand " I love this place, its entirely hidden from the outside world...like our own private oasis" I say motioning for him to come sit beside me...

Liam smiles a little " well your heart is beginning to open to me and it allowed our souls to meet" he says

He sits next to you and wraps an arm around your waist, bringing you close to him "I love it" he smiles and kisses your cheek "But I love you more"
I watch as the colors fade when I take my hand away from his, choosing to lay down on the blanket, my head on his lap "One thing that is bothering me is the fact that you shouldn't mate with a human. It's a complete different species, your mate should be a shifter too" I pause "And you're ok with me being this close to you, aren't you?"

I snuggle against him " I love you too Zayn...I've never felt this way about anyone before" I say nestling my head against his shoulder...

Liam strokes your hair "actually I think you were supposed to be a shifter but the ability never manifested and no I dont mind you being this close at all" he says smiling down at you

He kisses the top of your hair "Neither have I, and I should be scared, but I simply can't" he pauses "I really love you".
I frown "I should be one? I honestly doubt it"

I smile and sit up and pull him in for a long sweet kiss "wait here I'll be right back" I say and then I stand and run for the water and once in I shift back into mermaid form and dive down deep to the center of the lagoon and find two peices of sea glass one blue and one green and using my shifter magic I fashion them into two necklaces one for me and one for Zayn and I swim back to the surface and back up onto the beach in human form and sit beside him again and present him with the green one " here this is for you" I say with a smile....

Liam chuckles " I thought you trusted me" he teases
